The RaceQuip PRO Youth Helmet is an SFI 24.1 rated full face auto racing helmet that incorporates contemporary styling with a smaller shell for youth racers. The FRP Composite shell is hand laid to achieve a balance between light weight and strength. Reinforced M6 threaded HANS/HNR inserts are mated to the shell along with an expanded polystyrene (EPS) liner. HANS or other Head and Neck Restraint device anchor posts (not included) can be easily attached to the outside of the helmet using the installed M6 threaded inserts. The distortion free 3mm polycarbonate faceshield features an aluminum pivot kit, hand ratcheting TearOff posts, and a silicone eyeport gasket to seal out dust and dirt. A wide eyeport provides good peripheral vision and allows the use of personal eyewear. Extra cheek pads are included with each helmet to allow sizing of 51, 52, or 53cm to cover the most poular size range for kids. The SFI 24.1 rating means that the Nomex® interior and paint are fire retardant as well as the Kevlar(R) chin strap, so the RaceQuip PRO Youth Helmet should be suitable for use in all kids or Jr. motorsports series, sanctions, youth auto racing events, and even karting. The comfort fit blended Nomex® interior along with exhaust vents on the top and back of the shell help keep your scalp cool. All these features are wrapped in a stylish aero design hand laid FRP Composite shell with a medium sized chin spoiler and the result is the outstanding value delivered by the RaceQuip PRO Youth full face helmet. Designed with the NHRA Jr. Dragster or Quarter Midget racer in mind, the PRO Youth helmet is also suitable for most karting applications.
This helmet is a youth size helmet - 20 to 20-7/8 inches / 51 to 53 centimeters / 6-3/8 to 6-5/8 hat size.
Youth SFI Helmets have a smaller, lighter shell and are designed for lower speed youth racing. Measure with a cloth tape around the head about 1" above eyebrows. A snug fit is optimum. Use size in CM for best accuracy and go with the largest measurement you get. Hat sizes are only a guideline and not the most accurate. Inches are rounded to nearest 1/16. If you are between sizes you must go with the larger size. Add 1 to 1.5cm for a head sock.
When fitting a helmet, be sure to tighten chin strap before evaluating fit.
